About WJMC

Working Journalist Media Council (WJMC) is a government-registered self-regulatory body under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. Our mission is to foster ethical journalism, ensure compliance for digital publishers, and support independent content creators across India.

Our Purpose & Guidelines

In accordance with the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, WJMC guides digital publishers to strictly follow the Code of Ethics. We help establish grievance redressal mechanisms to handle complaints about content effectively and responsibly.

Publishers are required to submit accurate information under Rule 18 to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and update any changes within thirty days. WJMC ensures compliance while promoting transparency and accountability across the digital media ecosystem.
